This is defined in the ADA as one who is able to interpret effectively, accurately, and impartially, both receptively and expressively, using any necessary specialized vocabulary. If you don't know sign language, how do you know if you're hiring an interpreter who meets those requirements? One way is to seek an interpreter with superior credentials.
